Mission Bases
Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and NYC
Our Mission Bases are located in Rio de Janeiro and Viamao in Brazil. About 120 children and teenager are engaged in our programs. Our outreach program in New York City engages the most valunarable population in the projects and inner city of NYC.
Cracolandia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Cracolândia means land of crack. It’s an area controlled by drug dealers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where they sell and use drugs openly and 24/7. Very few can get access to places like that because it’s controlled by drug barons that have absolute power here. Police don’t come there. Our team weekly visits families that live around this area to bring food, clothes, Bibles, toys, medicine, personal hygiene items, and most importantly the light of the Gospel to one of the darkest places on the earth. The environment is very oppressed and people live in extreme poverty without basic sanitation. Children are being neglected, malnourished and often abused. For these children the only way out is to join street gangs or sell drugs. But there is another way… We have come here to bring the hope and light of the Gospel in this one of the very darkest places on the planet.
New York City Outreach Program
Our program in the housing projects through five boroughs of New York City brings the light and the hope of Jesus. We are helping children, teenagers and the population in distress by providing them with food, clothes, first aid items etc. We offer art classes and piano lessons. It’s a small key that opens big and great doors to preach the Gospel. Everyone is welcome to join us as we go out as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, in those places where needed the most.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Mission base in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is located in one of the favelas of Rio, one of the most dangerous and poorest areas of the city. Favelas are the neighborhoods that can be found in every large and medium sized city in Brazil. These neighborhoods are infamous for their crime, poverty and ruled by drug lords. Laws of the state and the city do not apply here. The Police and businesses do not go there. Public school education level is very low leaving the youth generation to live without prospects or hope making it impossible to break the generational poverty cycle. We know that our Lord Jesus loves to bring hope in hopeless places, and we are representing His kingdom. We are called to lead them to a life of freedom and to help them stand as victorious God’s children.
Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Our Base is located in a small farm in Viamao, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Our team weekly picks up children from slums near the base. Our base is surrounded by a beautiful nature which is a way to get them out of the crowded slums and to connect with God. Our team started to work in a garden with the kids to provide an opportunity for students to participate in hands-on learning that teaches not only the intended subject but also responsibility, teamwork, and respect for nature, others, and themselves. Gardens have been proven to help students learn better and enhance test scores. Growing vegetables, and a variety of herbs, edible gardens are a valuable tool to promote healthier eating habits, appreciate locally grown food sources, teach environmental stewardship, encourage community and social development, and even instill a sense of place.

“Whoever welcomes one of these children in my name welcomes me.” Mark 9:37
I was raised in a Christian family and grew up in church. Since I started this social project, I saw the reality of the kids who lived in a favela near my home. I saw that need to hear about God, that the children here don’t have proper nutritious meals, and need food. I feel amazing for being able to help them. It has changed my life.”
– Riquelme Moura
I always felt a great love for Children. Since Jesus of Nazareth Ministries opened a base in a small farm in a town called Viamao in the South of Brazil, I joined the ministry. My love for the children has increased. The kids sometimes come driven by the desire to get food or donations, but it’s possible to see in each of the children’s eyes that the real hunger is for more of the God’s presence. I feel that it is the Lord’s will for me, that I bring His Word to children and teenagers who don’t know Him, and who greatly need the Love of Jesus.
– Daniela Silveira
I was once an orphan and homeless, and God put people on my way who helped me get out of that life and know Jesus. As one day I needed help now I’m called to help those who lost their dignity.
